
The newly appointed National Coordinator is Angel Uwamahoro. Angel has been involved in Aegis’ work for a number of years as a lead actress in Rwandan dance and theatre group, Mashirika, which has toured the UK twice with Aegis. Angel, who just completed her studies in Rwanda is excited to be coordinating the team in Rwanda and linking with other groups around the world.
Justice Baraka joins Aegis Students Rwanda as Education and Outreach Officer – Justice is from Kenya and has been active in involving young people in speaking out against genocide and mass atrocities. Justice is passionate about empowering and engaging youth - particularly after the violence in Kenya which devastated his country in 2007.
Ariane Kankindi joins us as Fundraising and Events Officer. Ariane led a team of volunteers during the candle lit commemoration in Rwanda which Aegis organised for the 15th Anniversary in April 2009. Ariane has been actively involved in another youth movement in Rwanda called Peace and Love Proclaimers, which Aegis Students Rwanda is partnered with and is excited to bring fresh ideas and experience into our fundraising activities and events such as the Aegis Students International Conference.
Finally, Yannick Tona continues in his role as International Programmes Officer. Yannick has been working with Aegis Students Rwanda since its inception in 2007 and will be primarily responsible for delivering our Educational and Volunteering trips to Rwanda – Discover Rwanda.
