Bringing together youth from around the world, Aegis Students aims to raise awareness about the consequences of exclusion and equips young leaders with the skills they need to work towards a future of understanding and peace.
Aegis Students International is comprised of coordinated groups of young people in schools, colleges, universities and community groups around the world. We support the work of Aegis Trust, educate young people about the causes and consequences of genocide, campaign to stop and prevent genocide and fundraise to support survivors.
Aegis Students International currently has two main centres of activity; in the United Kingdom and in Rwanda, but is growing to encompass many other countries across North America, Europe and Australasia.
Through programmes such as Discover Rwanda, Aegis Students facilitates dialogue and the exchange of experiences and ideas across borders. It brings together like minded young leaders from different parts of the world through the common aim of fighting against genocide.
Participants are given the information and tools they need to become active global citizens.
Upon returning home they are supported in a structured way to take part in the Aegis Students International youth movement. They feel empowered and ready to make a tangible difference locally, nationally and internationally.
Aegis Students International challenges the hearts and minds of young people everywhere. Our main goal is to equip the youth of today to adequately respond to genocide when they become the decision makers of tomorrow.
