Start A Society

Starting a society in your university is a great way to get involved in the work of Aegis Students, training other students to become advocates for genocide prevention. As an Aegis Students Society you will be part of an international student movement committed to educating, campaigning and fundraising against genocide and mass atrocities. Your help will also provide much needed support to victims and survivors of genocide in Rwanda and Darfur.

Through your participation in an Aegis Students society, you will also be able to develop a whole range of leadership and communication skills, giving you the opportunity to manage a variety of projects and campaigns. As a society you have the autonomy to put into practice Aegis’ campaigns within your own sphere of influence. Working with a society is also a great opportunity to meet new people who share your interests!

“Starting and running an Aegis Students society in Edinburgh has been a great way to support a cause I really care about. It’s also given me the confidence and skills to secure an internship this year with a major national charity.”

Joe Silverman, President 2009/10 Edinburgh Aegis Students
